Move over Disneyland, because Jackie Chan is building a kickin’ new theme park! The action superstar plans to construct “JC World” in China’s Yizhuang district with a local company partner. Now, will you skyrocket up the air on rollercoasters or snack on popcorn while waiting in line at this attraction? No, but we wish! The fun fair will contain five major themed areas, and various exhibition centers filled with items Chan collected over the year.
Currently, he’s confirmed that his antique Chinese sandalwood houses will be the park’s main attraction. “I want to exhibit all my stuff. They may not all be worth a lot of money, but they may have a story behind them,” he said. “I was very poor when I was a child, so when I had money later on, I bought all sorts of things and went around the world collecting them.” Chan also went on to say that he would not charge visitors an entrance fee, but several areas will be ticketed. No release date has been announced, but production is well on its way!
Okay, so that’s not all Jackie Chan is up to these days; in China’s most populated city, Shanghai, the world’s first Jackie Chan museum is opening later this year! The 10,000 square-meter gallery will include movie costumes, properties, posters documenting his film career, a four story Italian restaurant, and a movie studio. Fans will also be able to meet the celebrity while touring the attractions.
Wow, now if only some American celebrities picked up on this trend, that way I could meet all my favorites!
