A Lego documentary

Lego Iron Man
Iron Man? Nope, this guy’s made out of Legos!

I don’t want to get technical, but if I had to put a number on how many Legos I’ve lost over the years, I’d say it’s about 600. It was difficult keeping the box organized when it had more than a thousand little cubes.

Anyways, the legendary creators behind the iconic building toys are teaming up with Oscar-winner Daniel Junge to produce Beyond The Brick: A LEGO Brickumentary, which is their cute way of saying documentary! The film is not yet in production, but will show both kid and adult fans the history of the toy, as well as the talented artists and designers involved in Legos movies and video games.

Now, what do the executives have to say about the movie? “LEGO bricks are everywhere, and this documentary is an examination of their footprint in our global community. The LEGO brick has transcended language, politics, age, race, art, science and technology – all through its ability to draw out the basic human need to create and share,” said Jill Wilfert, VP of Licensing and Entertainment for The LEGO Group.

LEGO really is everywhere! See, apart from the actual physical toys, Lego has expanded its craft to different movies, games, and television series! For example, you can’t go to Toys ‘R’ Us without LEGO: The Avengers or LEGO: Harry Potter building sets begging you from the shelf to take it home. Besides, Legos can be enjoyed at any age! Whether you’re a little girl building Cinderella’s castle, a teenage boy with the Transformer blueprints, or a Star Wars fanatic who wants to add the Death Star to the rest of his collection.

Is there any better way to feel like you’re 12 again? I mean, Legos were probably the first toy my mom bought for me to share with my brother! The movie does not yet have a specific release date, but will be available sometime in the next year.
