A “Red Hot” Super Bowl

By Melissa Platero, CCNN Writer

Old school meets new school. Although, let’s be honest here… nobody can really say that Red Hot Chili Peppers ever went out of style!

Bruno Mars won’t be the only rockstar on stage at Super Bowl halftime this year.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers will be joining him at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on February 2! The six-time Grammy-winning band – featuring singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith, and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer – released its last studio album I’m With You in 2011. The band will already be in the tri-state area during the Bowl, which should definitely save them some travel time.

Seeing Red Hot Chili peppers on stage again is going to be a treat for all of us trying to keep the heat up on that cold day in February. They never cease to amaze me, and alongside the ultra-smooth musical talent of Bruno Mars, I can’t imagine the crowd being anything less than stoked. Great surprise Mars and excellent choice!
