Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and… Agent Carter?

Agents of SHIELD rises
In the aftermath of Hydra’s dramatic reappearance, how will Phil Coulson and his crew get S.H.I.E.L.D. back on its feet?

The first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is coming to an end, but apparently the series is not! ABC has officially renewed the spy show for another season, so Marvel fans can look forward to more Phil Coulson and his renegade team of heroes.

If that’s not enough secret agent action for you, ABC also confirmed the long-rumored Agent Carter series, which will follow Captain America’s Peggy Carter (played again by Hayley Atwell).

Although ratings fell quite a bit after 12.12 million people tuned in to the premiere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. back in September, The Avengers characters are still very popular in the movie theaters and ABC’s no doubt banking on Agents finding its mojo in season 2.

It doesn’t hurt that the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier affected the storyline in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., providing some cool interaction between the movie and television show.

As for Agent Carter, the hype is already building, especially because Atwell’s romance with Captain America himself proved powerful in the movie. How she deals with his disappearance from her life and the excitement of 1940s spy action will set a fun, yet serious tone. She’ll be working for the covert Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR), going on secret missions for Howard Stark (the father of Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man).
