Pharrell Williams and Lorde may be up against one another, but that doesn’t stop them from being friendly!

Are you still bummed that your favorite artist didn’t get a Grammy? Well, don’t worry, because they still have another chance at getting recognized in the music industry! Every year, Billboard hosts its star-studded music awards and honors different singers in several categories. This Wednesday, Jason Derulo announced the finalists in categories such as top male artist and top female artist on Good Morning America.

According to Billboard, the musical finalists are based on “key fan interactions with music, including album and digital singles sales, radio airplay, touring, streaming and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, VEVO, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music.”

Newcomers Lorde and Imagine Dragons are predicted to win big at next month’s Billboard Music Awards. This is due to Lorde’s Grammy-winning hit “Royals” and Imagine Dragon’s multiplatinum, Grammy-winning song “Radioactive.” The smash singles will compete against chart-toppers like Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” Katy Perry’s “Roar,” and Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball.”

Imagine Dragons is also up for top artist, and will go head to head with Cyrus, Perry, Bruno Mars, and Justin Timberlake. So far, Timberlake takes the cake as most nominated, in a mega 11 categories, followed shortly by Perry’s 10 nominations.

So, don’t forget to sit back, relax, and watch the 2014 Billboard Music Awards live on May 18! With comedian Tracy Morgan as the host, you just know he’ll be bringing his famous Saturday Night Live humor to brighten the stage. The show will also include a highly-anticipated performance by Prince, who is set to receive the Billboard Icon Award. If Prince isn’t your kind of groove, then Justin Bieber, Miguel, Taylor Swift, and Bruno Mars will also perform.
