Upgrade your karts and increase their power!

Rovio Entertainment’s wildly successful Angry Birds game series is going kart racing! Ever since the original released for Apple’s iOS in December 2009, over 12 million copies have been purchased just from Apple’s store alone.

This led the company to design versions for other touchscreen smartphones like Android and Windows Phone, and it’s even made its way onto consoles and PCs.

Now, the beautifully smooth gameplay is taking a note from Mario Kart for the upcoming Angry Birds Go! game.

It might seem strange for the puzzle-based game that usually features slingshotting birds into motionless piggies to suddenly rev up some kart engines, but consider all the different forms Angry Birds has taken over the years.

I mean, they’ve traveled to space in Angry Birds Space and even busted out lightsabers, blasters, and the Force in Angry Birds Star Wars, so we’re pretty excited for the karting.

Made in partnership with Red Bull’s Kart mobile games, Angry Birds Go! will be released on December 11, 2013. All tracks are located on 3D Piggy Island, and not only are each of the karts upgradeable, each character has their own special power.

The trailer shows some seriously gorgeous graphics and exciting racer action, where it’s as much about burning rubber as barbecuing the competition with weapons. So, buckle up and stay tuned, because we’ll be keeping you absolutely in the know when new Angry Birds Go! info rolls into town!
