This virtual dissection app gets two green thumbs up from the live frogs!

If the thought of dissecting a frog in science class gives you the willies, or you feel bad that a slimy green critter had to give their life for education, we’ve got good news. The Frog Dissection app from Emantras offers a virtual experience that offers you the same in-depth knowledge and experience without all the gore!

The graphics feature accurately illustrated organs and dissection tools like pins, scissors, scalpels, and forceps, that animate in response to smooth touchscreen controls. Voiceovers provide instructions and can even read you the wealth of information on everything from body parts to the life cycle of a frog.

Once you’ve absorbed the facts on frog diets, their ecosystem, and a comparison between frogs and toads, there’s interactive quizzes to test what you remember.

You can pick up this app for $4.99, and also feel good about saving the lovable amphibians. In fact, the animal rights organization called People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have given Emantras the Mark Twain Ethical Science Award, because of their innovative virtual dissection app. So, what’s our final verdict? We give this app an “A”.
