Travel to 20 different islands and rescue the captured jelly blobs!

If you’re a fan of puzzle games that make you look hard for patterns and colored sequences, then you’ll absolutely love Wooga’s Jelly Splash. The objective of the game, which is available for both the Android and Apple market, is to connect 3 or more of the same colored jelly blobs. Now, here’s where Jelly Splash starts getting good. Once you hit level 5, the game gives you tasks like getting 15,000 points in 10 moves, freeing the trapped jelly in 7, or dropping an assortment of diamonds to the bottom in 20. Each level gets increasingly more difficult, and you start to rely on connecting longer lines of jelly to get the power-ups that will help you reach the end.

Okay, so that’s pretty much all there is to Jelly Splash, which doesn’t make it particularly exciting, but it’s entertaining enough to keep you busy during the day. However, that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t give the game a shot! The graphics are adorable, the jingle that plays in the background while you play is endearing, and the simplicity of the gameplay is addictive. You’ll find yourself obsessed with getting new jelly blobs that seem to have a personality of their own, and reaching the end of each level with a perfect score.

The only real issues with the game are the obvious ploys to get you to spend real cash and the relentless attempts to connect you to Facebook. Jelly Splash may be free on the market, but it relies on having a set amount of lives to play the game. If you fail to clear all the jelly or get a specific score, you lose a level and have to wait 30 minutes until a new one regenerates. The further you get in the game, the harder it is to keep lives. So, Jelly Splash encourages you to pay for a quick solution on feeding your addiction. As for Facebook, it’s not necessary to connect to play, but the pop up ads and encouragement become annoying after level 10.

With 120 levels for you to enjoy, Jelly Splash is the perfect game to play while in the car or waiting for your food. Just remember to take a deep breath when the levels get too hard and all you want to do is scream! The final verdict? B.
