Oscars, Golden Globes, and Grammys on the horizon

Grammys
This year’s Grammy nominations.

Yes. The holidays have passed, but the joy hasn’t stopped there. Writers, directors, producers, and costume designers are ready to be recognized this January! It is time for us to appreciate the creatives behind the magic of our beloved silver screen and the upcoming ceremonies will be carried into late February.

Most of the major Guilds are hosting their own awards, too. What this means is that you will not see them air on public television, but the winners will influence who takes home that Oscar gold. Who will be immortalized for their hard work? The flicks beloved by critics or the action-packed crowd pleasers?

When the time comes for your personal faves to win, keep those popcorn refills nearby for the Peoples Choice Awards where you will see your vote come to term, the Golden Globes where the Hollywood Foreign Press Association determines film and TV excellence, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards where members highlight and reward individual performances, and my personal favorite, the Grammy Awards where the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences unveil their choices for outstanding achievement.

So, keep your eyes peeled on our entertainment news coverage these next couple months and stay in the know. In the meanwhile, here’s a list of the upcoming awards shows, including some that you may not have heard about before. As for the more well-known ones, this is when they’re going down:

January 8 – People’s Choice Awards

January 12 – Golden Globe Awards

January 16 – Academy Award nominations announced

January 18 – Screen Actors Guild Awards

January 26 – Grammy Awards
