The 12-1-0 Colorado Avalanche are keeping those 10-1-3 San Jose Sharks swimming in second place, especially after the Avs crushed the Montreal Canadiens 4-1 this past Saturday. The Sharks, on the other hand, dropped the puck against the Coyotes, but they’re still top contenders. The 11-4-0 Pittsburgh Penguins, coming out in the No. 3 slot, swept the Blue Jackets aside yet again. Skating in at No. 4, the Anaheim Ducks are sporting an impressive 11-3-1 record boosted by their 2-1 win against the Rangers on Monday night. Last year’s champs, the Chicago Blackhawks, slipped a bit on Sunday when they lost to the Flames, and they’ll no doubt be looking to make up for it on Wednesday.
