If you’re hooked on the teleporting-psychic-telekinesis of The Tomorrow People, the Queen of Scots royal court drama on Reign, or the Klaus vs. Marcel conflict in The Originals, you’re in luck. The CW has officially ordered full seasons for every single freshman drama series, so you can relax knowing that there won’t be some cliffhanger episode that remains forever unresolved.
The Originals receiving a full season is no surprise, not only because The Vampire Diaries spinoff has averaged 2.7 million viewers, but it’s also nailed solid ratings among adults 18-49. Reign, however, is a somewhat surprising choice, given that it’s only attracted 2.1 million viewers. The Tomorrow People is in the middle, with 2.4 million folks tuning in.
CW president Mark Pedowitz expressed, “In just a few seasons, we have built a much stronger primetime schedule. Our on-air ratings are up year-to-year, and our digital viewing continues to grow exponentially. We’re excited about the creative momentum the producers have established for all three of our new series, and now our fans will have the chance to see the full stories unfold for them this season. With the additional episodes ordered, plus two new dramas and new reality for midseason, we’ll be able to continue our commitment to adding more original programming all year long.” Featured image courtesy of The Originals Facebook.
