You’ve read the books, lined up for hours to catch the Wednesday August 7 premier, and you’re already suffering from Percy Jackson withdrawals. Well, Percy Jackson fans now have something cute to tie the entire film experience together. Straight from the creator and director, Thor Freudenthal has released two comic strips inspired by the making of the newest film Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.
As the sequel to Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters is a riveting coming of age tale with endearing friendships.
Percy Jackson (played by Logan Lerman) is a teenage boy with an incredible mission to save the world for a second time. As the son of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea, the film takes influences from Greek mythology to portray the monsters and heroes. He and his friends are half-bloods (children with one immortal and one human parent) sent to a training camp where they meet other half-bloods who have been sent by their godly parents to master their powers.
So, don’t forget to nag your parents about taking you to the local theater if you haven’t seen it already. Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters hit the big screen yesterday on August 7 for its world-wide premier. Don’t forget to check back Saturday, August 10, for a full Clubhouse review! We’ll be tackling the waves with Percy Jackson to tell you if it’s worth a watch.
