Emma Watson
Emma Watson has come a long way since her days as Hermione.

Disney will begin filming a live-action version of the 1991 animated classic, Beauty and the Beast, later this year!

Disney’s popular musical romantic fantasy was based on the traditional French fairy tale by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont. The story follows a beautiful girl named Belle who’s imprisoned by the Beast, a cursed human prince whose monstrous shape is dispelled by their shared love.

Beauty and the Beast became Disney’s first animated movie to be adapted into a Broadway musical, and was also the first animated feature to be nominated for a Best Picture Oscar.

Now, Twilight director Bill Condon is taking the reins with the live-action Beauty and the Beast movie. Who’s going to play Belle? Well, Harry Potter fans rejoice, because Hermione actress Emma Watson was announced as the leading lady!
