Disney and Google have joined forces to create a beautiful animated short film called Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story, bringing Disney’s popular Vinylmation collectibles to life. With Valentine’s Day coming up on February 14, the 38-minute film is right on time for some lovey dovey goodness!
The story centers around Blank, an unpainted Vinylmation on a journey to find his lost soul mate. Starting this Friday, the flick will be shown at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre and Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park in Florida. If you can’t make it to those exclusive locations, Google Play will be making the short film available for free until February 23!
Matt Wyatt, creative director of Disney Online Original Studios, is excited to show the film. It was inspired by a two-and-a-half minute short with Blank coming out of a factory, and then meeting another unpainted figure… only to have her taken away from him. “That short film had so much heart and creativity that people really responded to it,” said Wyatt. “We thought this should be something bigger and started to brainstorm and create this epic love story and adventure.”
