The Wimbledon Championships tennis tournament has been held in London each year since 1877, and it is both the oldest tennis tournament in the world and widely considered the most prestigious. This year, Novak Djokovic defeated Roger Federer to take home the trophy for Wimbledon men’s singles, with a 6-7 (7), 6-4, 7-6 (4), 5-7, 6-4 victory. This is Djokovic’s second Wimbledon win, and he was greeted after the game by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate. “The most special Grand Slam final I’ve played,” Djokovic said. “At the time in my career, for this Grand Slam trophy to arrive is crucial, especially after losing several Grand Slam finals in a row. I started doubting, of course, a little bit. I needed this win a lot.”
