The Dodgers swept the Mets again with a comeback win after being down for the count. Los Angeles is 40-8 since June 22, which is the franchise’s best 48-game run in the modern era. In the bottom of the ninth, Andre Ethier hit a game-tying home run, setting the stage for a return from what seemed certain defeat. Consecutive doubles by Yasiel Puig and Adrian Gonzalez in the 12th inning edged the Dodgers past the Mets in a 5-4 victory. The Wednesday night game was the eighth win in a row, the team’s longest winning streak in more than 3 years.
