I wonder if the new furniture designs will end up on The Ellen Show?

Comedian and Ellen talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres, is teaming up with the cable network Home & Garden Television (HGTV) to launch a furniture design competition! The six-episode series, cutely named Ellen’s Design Challenge, will be DeGeneres’ very first time hosting a cable TV show.

Produced by the comedian’s very own company, A Very Good Production, the show will feature six competitors tackling different challenges in the areas of sketching, designing, and building furniture. Contestants must stand out from the crowd with their designs and creativity to take home a cash prize.

The series will also highlight DeGeneres’ passion for furniture and designing houses. “I’m so excited about this show because I love finding really special pieces of furniture,” said DeGeneres. She then joked, “One time I found a beautiful one-of-a-kind armoire that spoke to me in a way I’d never experienced. It turned out there was a [bum] living inside of it, but that’s a story for another time.”

If you’re worried about whether or not Ellen will still continue The Ellen Show, then don’t fret. Not only is she still going to prank celebrities on a daily basis, but she’s also working on other television projects – like Sophia Grace & Rosie’s Royal Adventure – that will be available in the near future.
