Singing legend, Sir Elton John, has a few words for Miley Cyrus, the self-proclaimed queen of partying. “I look at Miley Cyrus and I see a meltdown waiting to happen,” he told the website The Australian. “And she’s so young! But she’s got two records in the top 20, so who is going to stop her?”
We’re just going to go ahead and assume that Sir Elton John doesn’t listen to Cyrus on the radio, otherwise he’d know that “We Can’t Stop” clearly says no one’s going to stop her! Anyways, he continued by joking that his English heritage gives him the ability to “spot a car crash before it happens.” With the crazy shenanigans Cyrus has been up to these past few months, he may be onto something.
The Smilerz downward spiral started with her jam “We Can’t Stop” that glamorizes the usage of Molly, a powerful life-threatening drug, and partying until you forget your first name. It only got worse in the next few weeks when she embarrassingly paraded around the VMA stage, chaotically twitching with barely choreographed moves she calls “dancing.” Sure, Cyrus has already faced career consequences for her tragic attitude, but it doesn’t seem like she’s changing her tune anytime soon.
John gave Cyrus, and every other musician in Hollywood, this final piece of advice. “When your persona begins to take over your music and becomes more important, you enter a dangerous place. Once you have people around you who don’t question you, you’re in a dangerous place,” he said.
So, is Cyrus in a dangerous place? Definitely. How long until she’s the next Justin Bieber getting in trouble for causing club fights? It’s about time someone told her this Hip-Hop phase will only result in her losing fans. Now, maybe Elton John should call up Miley Cyrus directly and give her a good talking to.
