Gadget of the Week: RC Caterpillars

RC Caterpillar
Whoa! It looks just like the real thing…

If you’re into bugs and remote-controlled cars, then the Raji Konchu RC Caterpillars are going to be right up your alley! These machine critters are geared out in caterpillar-like exteriors that wriggle and squirm just like the real thing, and you can easily control the creeping and crawling of these lovable creepy-crawlers.

The wormy 4.5 x 1.2 x 0.8 inch bodies are divided into segments that flexibly adapt to the movements you direct via a two-channel radio remote control. You can even steer up to three of the little guys at a time, or let them run around autonomously (on their own, in random directions).

Unfortunately, they only go in two directions – forward and to the right. So, if you’re planning on coordinating a caterpillar attack with all three of these adorable critters, chasing your dog or kid sister around the house, it might prove tricky! Just imagine all the fun you can have, though, by unleashing these caterpillars on the dining room table or during a family gathering. Okay, maybe that’s not such a good idea, because we wouldn’t want someone stepping on them! Available for $35, you can choose from green, yellow, or brown colors for the buggers. And no, sadly, they don’t ever change into butterflies.
