I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine

Despite her lack of blockbuster films in the past 3 years, Forbes lists Angelina Jolie as the highest paid actress in Hollywood for the year 2013. Raking in $33 million for her newest up and coming film, Maleficent (a darker twist on the fairy tale Sleeping Beauty we all know and love), Angelina Jolie beat The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence by a margin of $6 million.

Though known mostly for her roles in Tomb Raider and Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Angelina Jolie is more than just your foxy crime-fighting lady. She is also a dedicated humanitarian (fighting for the rights and benefit of people), with over 10 years as an official Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations. Most recently, she served as an inspiration to many women by going public with her preventative double mastectomy (a procedure that removes breast to stop the risk of cancer). After losing her own mother to breast cancer, when Angelina found out she had an 87% risk of dying from the same illness, she didn’t want her children to experience that same sense of loss.

Now, as far as Forbes goes, did Jolie’s hubby Brad Pitt make the megabucks list? Nope! Rocketing past the competition as the highest paid actor in Hollywood was Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. (RDJ). Peaking at an outrageous $75 million for his part in the Iron Man series and The Avengers, it’s no surprise why RDJ rests easy as the top dog. In second place was Channing Tatum at $60 million.

It may be too early to say, but with The Avengers 2 in the works, you can definitely expect RDJ to top the list a second time. Congratulations to the rest of the folks who made it on the list, and cheers to a successful year for all the nominees! Click here to see the full list of the top-earning males in Hollywood as published by Forbes Magazine and here for the top-earning females.
