In Disney’s movie Smart House, a family wins a high-tech computerized home that is controlled by a personal cyborg maid. That sounds so advanced, right? Well, the latest home technology from Delos Living will definitely give the Smart House a run for its money.
The company teamed up with top architects, scientists, and doctors to design homes that are not only eco-friendly, but also healthy for the people inside. Their project, the WELL Building Standard, is focused on seven categories: air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort, and mind.
WELL-equipped buildings will have air purifiers and filter control systems that constantly remove any toxins or dust floating around. Even if a person brings dirty pollutants and allergens into the house from the outside, the contamination is quickly removed for clean breathable air.
While the purification system keeps the lungs refreshed, fixtures around the house provide natural light tha
t’s easy on the eyes. The bulbs mimic nature outside, so if the Sun is just rising in the morning, they emit a softer kind light. Likewise, when the Sun is most intense at noon, the bulbs shine brilliantly. That is, except for the ultraviolet kitchen bulbs that apparently keep countertops and other surfaces sanitary with unique rays.
Speaking of the kitchen, its state-of-the-art appliances make things like chopping, slicing, dicing, blending, and juicing a complete breeze. The appliances are meant to encourage people to use healthy cooking habits for nourishing meals. There will also be an area available to grow your own herbs and produce for the freshest nutrient-rich food!
After cooking up a fine meal, taking a shower’s the perfect to clean off that grease and sweat. Well, good thing the steaming showers release moisturizers like vitamin C, ensuring radiant skin before you even step out of the bathroom! Afterwards, unwind with the built-in sound wave technology and inhale the aromatherapy – special fragrances that calm the mind and relax the senses. Wow, personal cyborg or not, this sounds like the smart house for me!
The first WELL-equipped building with be revealed soon in a Downtown Los Angeles complex that includes not only living quarters, but also hotel rooms, and office buildings. Shoot, with relaxing lights, clean air, and aromatherapy, I’m sure every one of the employees working in the building will consider it a second home!
