Do you hear that? It’s the sound of millions of young girls crying their hearts out, but fortunately for the Beliebers, Justin Bieber was simply joking when he said he was retiring.
So, how did the conversation even start? Well, on Tuesday, the self-proclaimed king of pop met with the radio station, Power 106, to discuss his upcoming documentary, Believe, and album, Journals. The 19-year-old pop star sat down with the host and said, “New album… uh. I’m actually retiring, man. I’m retiring, yeah.”
He then added, “I’m just gonna take some time. I think I’m probably gonna quit music.” That’s a little contradicting, don’t you think? Taking some time definitely doesn’t mean quitting, Biebs!
Well, anyways, even if some of us did momentarily get our hopes up for a promising 2014 without Justin Bieber’s cheesy pop lyrics on the radio, his rep told E! News that it was just a joke.
Power 106 also helped ease the pain by tweeting a statement directly from the Biebs. It read: “‘I want to grow as an artist and I’m taking a step out, I want my music to mature’-@justinbieber #JustinBigBoy106.”
There you have it, fans and haters! The “Baby” singer isn’t retiring from music; he’s just taking a step back to analyze his style of music, and hopefully rethinking some of his punkish actions.
Here’s to a peaceful 2014 with no more abandoned monkeys.
