Gracie Gold
18-year-old Gracie Gold is an Olympic bronze medalist and accomplished figure skater.

When the Kids’ Choice Awards ended in March, Nickelodeon fans sadly realized they’d have to wait another year to watch celebrities get covered in green slime and compete for orange blimps. But then… Nick decided to spring a surprise, when they announced that the very first Kids’ Choice Sports awards would go down this summer! Now, the athletic nominees have finally been announced.

On July 17, the Kids’ Choice Sports 2014 will be hosted by retired NFL player and media personality Michael Strahan, live from Los Angeles. Eager to cast your vote? Well, beginning on June 12, kids everywhere will decide who wins in each of the 15 awesome categories.

“Kids love sports and are very, very passionate about their favorite sports stars, so for these world-class athletes, it’s going to be a competition they’ve never experienced before,” said Russell Hicks, Nickelodeon’s President of Content Development and Production. “It’ll be fun and thrilling to see them off their home turf and playing on ours.”

The athletes are stoked as well, like mega tennis celeb Serena Williams. “I am so excited to be nominated for four Kids’ Choice Sports Awards!” she exclaimed. “I really hope my story will inspire kids to find their passion in life and have a lot of fun in the process. Do what you love and love what you do.”
