In an unlikely pairing, the weird and wacky Lady Gaga has joined forces with classic crooner Tony Bennett for a duet album, Cheek to Cheek, that debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 list.
The blend of jazz music with soulful vocals pulls off a silky and upbeat vibe that’ll have you snapping and humming along.
Bennett, born Anthony Dominick “Tony” Benedetto, is an 88-year-old Italian-American singer and World War II veteran who rose to fame in the 1950s and 1960s with his jazz vocals and heartfelt ballads.
Lady Gaga, born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, is also an Italian-American, and the 28-year-old soared to popularity in 2008 with catchy pop songs and bizarre outfits.
Do these two legends have good chemistry? You betcha!
See, Lady Gaga is actually musically talented behind all the explosive performances, zany music videos, and strange clothes. She doesn’t need to rely on sound machines to make her voice beautiful, and is even skilled at playing the piano and guitar. So, when she and Bennett electrify tracks like “Cheek to Cheek”, “They All Laughed”, and “Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye”, you’ll literally feel your brain melt right into your heart.
