Disney Infinite app
Swashbuckling with Jack Sparrow in real life!

Disney has done it again! This time they’re bringing the magic of all your favorite characters to the Apple small screen with two brand new apps. Disney Infinity gives you the freedom to play with some of your favorite Disney and Disney/Pixar worlds like never before. Players can take on the role of Sulley, Captain Jack Sparrow, or Mr. Incredible to battle enemies, solve puzzles, overcome obstacles, and complete a variety of unique quests that will you help you save their world.

The new mobile feature of Disney Infinity allows Disney to get material (such as new characters and worlds) to fans at a much quicker rate. It’s also cheaper, because Disney does not have to work around marketing laws and copyright infringement with the creators. So, instead of waiting six to twelve months for new content, fans can play all the new content on their iPads, iPhones, or iPods by syncing it from their consoles via a DisneyID.

The Toy Box app, which is exclusive to the iPad, lets you mix all your characters to play in a rule-free world where you make your own adventure. Players are also given the freedom to create their own world by unlocking virtual toys, character, buildings, weapons, gadgets, and more.

Initially, the Toy Box download comes with a single character, Mr. Incredible, and basic items to decorate your world with such as trees, building blocks, and a car. The additional content can be unlocked by playing the console game, and digital codes that come with the physical toys and in-app purchases.

The second, which can be played on both the iPhone and the iPad, is Disney Infinity: Action! This app gives users the ability to create and share their own videos using animated overlays of three characters: Sully, Captain Jack Sparrow, and Mr. Incredible. Each of these characters comes with multiple actions: Sully jumps and strikes a scary pose, Mr. Incredible flexes his muscles, and Captain Jack Sparrow aims his sword in battle. The characters can be framed into real life backdrops wherever the scene is being filmed. Sharing these videos on social media will also give players coins so that they can unlock other character actions.

Wow! If you’ve ever wanted to be in a movie with these Disney characters, now’s your chance. Both apps are now available on the app store, while Disney Infinity is set to hit stores August 18th.
