The World Series is wide open for the taking.

The MLB playoffs continued this weekend, as 8 teams battled in the League Division Series for a chance at the World Series! Which two were knocked out of the running?

Well, on Thursday, the Baltimore Orioles obliterated the Detroit Tigers 12-3 and the Kansas City Royals defeated the Los Angeles Angels 3-2 in Game 1 of the American League Division Series (ALDS). Then, in Friday’s Game 2 matches, the Royals knocked down the Angels 4-1 and the Tigers fell to the Orioles 6-7. On Sunday, the Orioles won the ALDS 3-0, after declawing the Tigers 2-1 in Game 3. Sadly for the Angels, the Royals secured their ALDS victory 3-0 as well, with a 3-8 win on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Game 1 of the National League Division Series (NLDS) kicked off on Friday, as the San Francisco Giants rocked the Washington Nationals 3-2 and the St. Louis Cardinals overcame the Los Angeles Dodgers 10-9. On Saturday, in the MLB’s longest playoff game ever at almost 6.5 hours and 18 innings, the Giants took down the Nationals 2-1. As for the Dodgers, they got revenge against the Cardinals, winning 3-2 in Game 2.

After the Cardinals beat the Dodgers 3-1 on Monday and 3-2 on Tuesday, they won the NLDS, as did the Giants in their 3-2 victory against the Nationals. Now, the ALCS will feature the Orioles vs. the Royals in Game 1 on Friday, and the NLCS will begin with the Giants vs. the Cardinals in Game 1 on Saturday.
