Did you like the “Iron Man” movies? What about “Captain America”? How about “The Avengers”? Marvel studios – the team that brought us those films, along with “The Incredible Hulk” and “Thor” – is making the move to TV with the new show “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” The show is being developed by Joss Whedon – the director of the HUGE film version of The Avengers. If you’re into Marvel’s comics and films, get excited.

The “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” storyline will be tied into the stories of Marvel films such as “The Avengers” and maybe even tie into future Marvel films as well.

The show will follow six members of a worldwide police force known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Brett Dalton takes on the role of superspy, Grant Ward. Ming-Na Wen will play martial arts expert, Melinda May delivering punches and kicks to unsuspecting foes. Computer expert, Skye will be played by Chloe Bennet. Scientist Jemma Simmons will be played by Elizabeth Henstridge. Weapons designer, Leo Fritz will be played by Iain De Caestecker. Familiar face Clark Gregg plays team leader Phil Coulson- a role he played in “Iron Man”, “Thor”, and “The Avengers”.

Another Avengers star says that he wants to be on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as well: Samuel L. Jackson. Jackson played S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Nick Fury in “The Avengers” and says he would like to play Fury on the new show. However, Jackson also says that Marvel bringing Jackson on to the show is far from a done deal simply saying “we’ll see what they think.”

With or without Jackson, there’s a new team of Marvel heroes coming and you won’t even have to go to the movies to watch them in action. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will air Tuesday nights this fall on ABC.
