GMA Michael Strahan
Woah! That’s one big cup of joe. Perfect for an ex-football player, right?

Last month, Nickelodeon announced that former NFL player, Michael Strahan, would host the first ever Kids’ Choice Sports award show! This week, however, he made his official debut on ABC’s mega talk show, Good Morning America (GMA).

His introduction started off with a montage of photos from different stages in his life, including adorable childhood trips down memory lane. The GMA crew then surprised Strahan during the episode by playing Pharrell’s “Happy” song as he strolled down a red carpet at the Times Square studios, while a voiceover introduction played in the background. Co-anchors George Stephanopoulos and Lara Spencer then presented the incoming host with a few gifts to celebrate the occasion! This included a vintage alarm clock, an enormous branded coffee mug, and a wheelbarrow of Sour Patch Kids (Strahan’s favorite).

So, what can we expect from the new GMA co-host? Well, in addition to covering sports, he will also do news features on topics that interest him personally. In fact, Strahan will start his part-time schedule as co-host next week! Now, in case you’re familiar with Strahan’s other projects, his talk show LIVE With Kelly and Michael will still air regularly.
