Music’s biggest night went down on Sunday, as the 57th Grammys ignited the Los Angeles Staples Center with mega popstars and rockstars.
Earlier in the week, the Grammys honored New Hampshire teacher Jared Cassedy of Windham High School with the “Music Educator Award”, for inspiring students with his infectious enthusiasm. Then, at the Grammy Awards, performers like Pharrell, Sam Smith, and Usher lit up the stage, while Iggy Azalea, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and Jessie J competed for top honors in Pop, Country, Rock, and more.
Sam Smith definitely stole the spotlight, taking Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year. Beyoncé won three Grammys for Best Surround Sound Album, Best R&B Song, and Best Performance, bringing her total to a historic 20 victories! She’s now passed up Aretha Franklin to become the 2nd most honored woman in Grammy history, and is only behind the 27 wins of Alison Krauss. Other big wins included Miranda Lambert for Best Country Album and Pharrell Williams for Best Solo Pop Performance.
