The Mobile World Congress 2014 has been going strong for days now, but it is nearing its conclusion on February 27. While there has been no shortage of smartphones on display at the convention, smartwatches are also getting their fair share of the limelight, especially Samsung’s Galaxy Gear series, Creor’s Ibis Smart Watch, and Sony’s SmartBand.
Samsung’s Galaxy S5 smartphone, which was revealed at the MWC this year, comes with a pre-installed heart monitor that pairs with their Galaxy Gear, Galaxy Gear 2, and Galaxy Gear Fit smartwatches. Not only can these gizmos keep track of time and connect to a smart TV, they’re able to take photographs, last up to 6 days with battery life, provide notification alerts, and monitor health.
Sony’s SmartBand can also track fitness with its “Core” technology, and even learn your sleep cycles. Once it figures out your body’s ideal amount of rest, it’ll wake you up at the perfect moment. While its design is elegantly simple, when you place it next to the Ibis Smart Watch, it looks downright tacky.
See, the Ibis Smart Watch is adorned with sparkling crystal and curving stainless steel. In fact, it’s so beautiful, it seems better fitted to the world of smart jewelry fashion. The Ibis Smart Watch isn’t just about looks, though, since it’s equipped with Bluetooth, wifi, a high-end touchscreen, and a light sensor. The gadget also sends alerts for texts, calls, and emails when connected to a smartphone.
