So much for a relaxing cruise!

More than 300 individuals aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship have fallen ill to a mysterious sickness.

The Explorer of the Seas ship was on a 10-day cruise from New Jersey to the Caribbean Island of St. Maarten. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 281 passengers and 22 crew members showed symptoms of a fast-spreading infection, which included diarrhea and vomiting.

Officials stopped the ship in San Juan, Puerto Rico for extensive disinfecting. “During its sailing, Explorer of the Seas has experienced an elevated number of persons with a gastrointestinal illness,” said cruise line officials in a statement. “Those affected by the short-lived illness have responded well to over-the-counter medication being administered on board the ship.”

Royal Caribbean officials apologize for the interrupted vacation. Meanwhile, the CDC will collect samples to study in their lab and determine what caused the mysterious outbreak.
