The Clemson Tigers entered the game against the dangerous NC State Wolfpack with their highest rank in 25 years, and Heisman contender Tajh Boyd threw for 244 yards and 3 touchdowns to help the feisty felines nail a 37-13 win. Kenny Guiton of the Ohio State Buckeyes broke the school record for passing touchdowns in a game with six, all in the first half, as the Florida A&M Rattlers were brutally destroyed in a 76-0 game. Speaking of complete dominance, this Saturday’s blowouts also included Louisville’s 72-0 over FIU, Miami (FL) knocking Savannah State out 77-7, Baylor over Louisiana-Monroe’s 70-7 score, Washington’s 56-0 smackdown of Idaho State, and Florida State’s 54-6 easymode against Bethune-Cookman. After leading 17-6 for 3 quarters, the Alabama Crimson Tide devoured the Colorado State Rams 31-6. The Stanford Cardinal collected 391 yards of offense behind two touchdown passes from quarterback Kevin Hogan, taking a 29-0 lead from the Arizona State Sun Devils. Although the Sun Devils came back hard with 21 straight points in the fourth quarter, it wasn’t enough to prevent Stanford from sealing the deal with a 42-28 victory.
