Stanley Cup playoffs
Will the Blackhawks retake their crown?

The ice is heating up as NHL teams began duking it out for the Stanley Cup on Wednesday’s first round of playoffs games.

In the NHL Western Conference, the Colorado Avs are battling the Minnesota Wild and the St. Louis Blues are facing defending champs Chicago Blackhawks, to see which two teams get paired for the semifinals.

Likewise, the Anaheim Ducks are dueling the Dallas Stars and the San Jose Sharks are taking on the Los Angeles Kings.

On the Eastern Conference side of the fence, the Boston Bruins are fighting the Detroit Red Wings and the Tampa Bay Lightning compete against the Montreal Canadiens for the semifinals, while the Pittsburgh Penguins go head-to-head with the Columbus Blue Jackets and New York Rangers fight the Philadelphia Flyers for a shot at the next round. Which of these 16 teams will make it to the final 8? Stay tuned!
