Nintendo’s pocket monsters stronger than ever

Pokemon X and Y 2
Taking a stroll through the Kalos Region.

I can’t begin to explain how many times I’ve had to restart my Pokémon game just because I’ve beat every gym leader and trainer. I guess you could say I’m starting to get impatient, especially now that Pokémon X and Y’s release date of October is just around the corner.

With a new region, new pokemon, and new evolutions, the games Pokémon X and Y are set to change everything we’ve ever known about the Pokéworld.  The games take place in the Kalos Region, a new island that is home to beautiful skies, forests, and exciting adventures.  The brand new graphics are also set to impress players, because it is unlike anything we have ever seen before.

The most recent news is the mega evolution process that has never before been done in a Pokémon game. Super evolutions are new super-powerful forms for pokemon like Mewtwo and Lucario. Using these Mega Evolutions will change a pokemon’s appearance, ability, and even their elemental type. Mega Evolutions will only happen during battles and will revert the pokemon to their normal forms once it is over. The evolution is controlled by Mega Stones, a new item that will be hidden in the game, and found in pokéballs spread around the continent. Nintendo also mentioned a new type of Super Training. Players can now have their Pokemon participate in Super Training activities that will increase their Pokemon’s stats.

The new and improved way of battling just sounds like an easier way for me to kick my friends’ butts. Not to mention, expand my pokedex! Don’t forget to ask your parents to take you to a store near you, Pokémon X and Y hits shelves October 12th.
