When Paul Walker unfortunately passed away several months ago, many fans of The Fast and the Furious series wondered what would happen to the latest movie installment. Walker, who played a main character, was a huge asset to the entire franchise.
His character, Brian O’Conner, appeared in every movie, with the exception of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Would they write off his character entirely, or would they simply rewrite the story to fit the scenes he had managed to film?
Well, at first, Universal Studios planned to rebuild an entire Paul Walker with the help of CGI magic. Now, they’re taking the technology that can blend special effects, voices, and human lookalikes a step further by involving Walker’s brothers. Caleb and Cody, who have a striking similarity to Walker, will fill in the small gaps left behind in production. “Caleb and Cody are helping us complete some remaining action for their brother…” the studio said. “Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us too.” Because of changes in the studio production and filming, Universal has also pushed back the release date from this summer to April 15, 2015.
