The release of Pokémon X and Y is so close I can practically taste the Professor’s secret evolution formula! Now that the October 12 launch is weeks away, the Poke Creators have tossed us a Pokeball and released never before seen deets.
Let’s start with the equipment, and how it’s changed from the original games where players traveled the world on foot and bikes. X and Y is taking it to the next level and introducing pro-skating, giving characters the option to use rollerblades! If that’s not cool enough, then get this – every time you beat an opponent wearing skates, they’ll bust out new tricks you can mimic while cruising down the Kalos Region!
Next up is the series of mini games called the super training system that uses the 3Ds touch screen to train Pokémon. It can be done at any time when players are not battling or watching an event. See, in previous games, leveling up meant scrambling around for hours in the grass waiting for other runts to attack. Not only was that time consuming, but it meant only one team member was getting trained! Ugh, if I had a dollar for every hour I spent training my Charmander… Anyways, with this bonus content, the Pokémon basically train themselves and increase their defensive stats.
Okay, we’ve saved the best for last. What new critters do Pokémon X and Y have for us? As of right now, X and Y will include all the monsters from the previous games, plus the 149 Kalos newbies. Woah, that’s more than 500, will anyone really be able to catch them all?
The game is only a few weeks away… I can’t wait to throw my responsibilities out the door, and waste all my time playing!
