Queen leaves royal palaces in crumbling disrepair

The Queen has left quite the royal mess behind.

Queen Elizabeth has let the United Kingdom’s royal palaces fall into a crumbling state of disrepair. Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle are apparently in the worst condition, with the staff catching rain in buckets so that priceless art and antiques aren’t damaged.

With just $1 million left in the Queen’s household finances, she’s been advised by the Treasury to start saving money better. After all, back in 2001, she had $35 million in her reserve fund.

Members of Parliament issued a critical report on Tuesday, expressing their dismay. It’s particularly inexcusable, considering that the Queen has an estimated personal net worth of $500 million and receives a yearly $12.9 million from the government!
