Talk about building mega momentum in Game 1 of the World Series! The Boston Red Sox absolutely dominated the St. Louis Cardinals, smacking them around the field in an 8-1 victory. Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said, “We got a wake-up call. That’s not the kind of team we’ve been all season.” Yah, no kidding Matheny! He added, “They are frustrated. I’m sure embarrassed to a point. We get an opportunity to show the kind of baseball we played all season long, and it didn’t look anything like what we saw.” Is it just me, or is this World Series starting to look like 2004 when the BoSox swept the Cardinals in four games? Boston’s first baseman Mike Napoli, who drove three runs with a bases-loaded double in the very first inning, downplayed everything. He humbly expressed, “A lot went right for us, but when you get opportunities, you have to take advantage of them. We did that.”
