Sharks at the top of the NHL food chain

As teams cross the 10-game mark this week, the NHL season will really begin to take shape, but it’s already looking a lot like shark teeth and fins circling the ice! The San Jose Sharks have destroyed the opposition in eight straight games and are most definitely the big fish right now, with an 8-0-1 record. Tumbling down the mountain right on their tails is the Avalanche from Colorado, as the Avs 8-1-0 record builds momentum on the strength of Patrick Roy. Dashing along, despite a tumble this week in the Colorado snow, the Pittsburgh Penguins are lighting up the Eastern Conference with a 7-2-0 spread.
