The 46-18-7 San Jose Sharks played a tough, even game against the 45-18-7 Anaheim Ducks, edging out a 3-2 win  after Brent Burns scored the tiebreaker with around 4 minutes left. Anaheim’s been having its ducky feathers plucked lately, with 6 losses in their last 8 games, while San Jose has now won 7 of 8, moving 2 points ahead of the Ducks. That places the Sharks in sole possession of 1st place in the Pacific Division for the first time in over 3 months, so you can be sure their fins are cutting through the ocean with glee. Joe Thornton helped tie the game in the 3rd, and also had his 2nd assist for the game-winning shot. As for the Ducks, Teemu Selanne and Mathieu Perreault each knocked one into the net.
