Sofia Vergara looks fabulous on screen and off!

For the second year in a row, Sofia Vergara is the top-earning actress on TV according to Forbes. Vergara’s success comes from starring on ABC’s Modern Family and her many endorsement deals with brands such as Diet Pepsi and Covergirl. Second on the list were Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco and Law & Order’s Mariska Hargitay, both with $11 million. Vergara’s earnings over the past year reached $30 million, which made her the highest paid actress in Hollywood by a long shot. Jeez. With all the soda and makeup I buy, I should get her endorsement deals, too!

Okay, so how does Forbes magazine decide who’s got the most dough? Well, the Forbes Celebrity 100 list looks at the earnings of American celebrities in between June 2012 through June 2013 and counts the cash raked in on completed projects and contracts made during that time. So, pretty much, Forbes takes every aspect of the celebrity lifestyle into consideration; from their talent on TV to their endorsement and licensing deals, and the appearances that have come as a result of being on the TV.

When it comes to licensing and endorsement deals, there’s no one like Sofia Vergara! As a Colombian actress and model, many companies have used Vergara to reach two different types of audiences: English speakers and Spanish speakers. Apart from Diet Pepsi and Covergirl, Vergara has endorsement deals and does bilingual commercials with brands of laundry detergent, Comcast cable network, and State Farm Insurance. Her language crossover appeal makes her one of the most in-demand spokespeople on the market.

As far as her role on Modern Family, she’s one of the most wildly popular cast members on the show. Vergara plays the feisty, fun-loving character, Gloria Pritchett, who is the wife of Jay Pritchett, the main character. Gloria is known for her thick Colombian accent and saying whatever is on her mind without worrying about hurting feelings. Vergara’s comedic timing has made Gloria the most hilarious (and beloved) character on the show. Not to mention, Vergara’s work on Modern Family has gotten her an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress.

Congratulations to Ms. Vergara on making the top of the Forbes list for the second year in a row! Her talents are definitely worth recognizing.
