Spader for Marvel’s Ultron, but no Damon for DC’s Robin

Spader
James Spader may not look like a robotic mastermind now, but get him in costume, and there’s no stopping this actor. That being said, he definitely looks like an evil human mastermind.

With all this superhero news, you should probably start calling us The Daily Planet! Before we get to the current DC drama, let’s focus on Marvel’s new man. A few days ago, Marvel announced that James Spader would be playing the supervillain, Ultron, in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

So far, it looks like the Internet is supportive of Marvel’s choice; there’s no campaigns or outrage like we saw with Ben Affleck. However, that didn’t stop Hollywood from chiming in. What does Loki actor, Tom Hiddleston, have to say about a new villain terrorizing the group of Avengers? Well, he’s actually very supportive, too. “Go on, James Spader. Go get ’em. @Avengers #AgeOfUltron,” he tweeted.

Okay, let’s go back to DC. From announcing Ben Affleck as the new Batman, to debunking countless casting rumors, it’s been an interesting month for this studio. Most recently, Matt Damon put an end to the gossip blogs that reported he would star alongside Affleck as Robin, Batman’s sidekick. “It’s safe to say I won’t be Robin,” he said. “I am a little older than Ben. I never saw Robin as older than Batman.” Whelp. We’re sorry Damon fans, but you won’t be seeing him on the big screen in neon green tights any time soon.

However, there is another way you can show him your support! Damon is joining The Dark Knight’s director, Christopher Nolan, in his upcoming sci-fi film Interstellar. The movie is being kept tightly under wraps, so there’s no extreme deetz on his role just yet.

So, whether you’re Team Marvel or Team DC, there’s always something to talk about. Tune into Clubhouse News for all your superhero information! We promise we’re not just mild-mannered reporters hiding a secret life of crime-fighting…
