Scholastic Media and the preschool network Sprout are teaming up for a new animated series called Astroblast!. The space-traveling comedy show is being created mainly for kids ages 2-5, and is based on the books of the same name by author Bob Kolar. Follow the wacky mischief of a space animal crew that runs the Astroblast Space Station. There’s Comet, Jet, Radar, Halley, Sputnik, and Sal the Octopus!
Deborah Forte, president of Scholastic Media and executive producer of the new animated series, says, “Our Emmy Award-winning team of writers and animators are delighted to bring Bob Kolar’s endearing Astroblast! characters and stories to life for Sprout. We’re delighted to introduce this series, which supports Sprout’s mission of using the familiar framework of a young child’s relationships and experiences to further learning opportunities in everyday moments.”
Even Sprout’s president Sandy Wax chimed in, expressing, “Sprout is committed to discovering the best original content and delivering it to preschoolers and their families. We are incredibly privileged to be able to work with Scholastic Media on Astroblast!. It is going to be a great family viewing experience.”
