Spurs beat Heat for 5th NBA crown

In Game 5 of the NBA Finals, the San Antonio Spurs rocked the Miami Heat 104-87 in a display of total domination. The victory ended Miami’s chances of a three-peat, thanks in large part to 22-year-old Kawhi Leonard’s 22 points and 10 rebounds.  This marks the 5th NBA crown for the Spurs, and was definitely a big dose of revenge after last year’s loss. San Antonio can now add the year 2014 to its list of past championship victories, alongside 1999, 2003, 2005, and 2007. The game looked shaky at the beginning, but the Spurs managed to come back from a 16-point deficit by going 37-13 from the beginning of the 2nd quarter to halfway into the third. LeBron James was no slouch, helping the Heat with 17 first-quarter points, but his final tally of 31 points and 10 rebounds just wasn’t enough without his teammates stepping it up.
