The Phoenix Suns may be looking to pick up center Pau Gasol from the Los Angeles Lakers. The four-time All-Star is a very valuable player who is in the last year of a contract that pays $19.3 million.
The Lakers claim they’re not just trying to save money, even with a terrible season that saw them fall into the West’s bottom three at 16-31.
“We’re obviously all looking for stars,” said Ryan McDonough, general manager of the Suns, “and we feel like we can put together a package as good, if not better, than any other team in the league if and when a star becomes available.”
