Saturday’s game is hotly anticipated, not so much for the inevitable high-stakes clash between the Texas A&M Aggies and Alabama Crimson Tide teams, as for the duel between their two incredible quarterbacks. First, there’s Johnny Manziel… the bold and reckless Aggie who robbed the NCAA of their self-respect, has a long family history of outlaws, and loves to play the bad guy. There’s no denying his fiery, unpredictable gameplay is top-notch, if only for the intensity of his confidence. On the other side, there’s AJ McCarron… the calm and disciplined Crimson Tide QB who’s routinely called the “game manager” due to his old-school philosophy and organized leadership. His moves are calculated, reasoned out, and executed with detailed planning.
What’s perhaps truly surprising, is that while these very different football personalities may be enemies on the field, they’re buddies outside of the game! “We’re just friends, guys,” said McCarron. “Y’all make this thing a lot bigger than it needs to be.” When reporters tried getting him to dish the dirt on Manziel, McCarron coolly responded, “My name is AJ. Everything that has to do with him, he’s his own man. I’m not going to speak on another man’s business. That’s how I was raised. If it don’t have nothing to do with you, don’t speak on it.”
