The much anticipated The Fault in Our Stars film adaptation of John Green’s beloved young adult novel will be released on June 6, 2014. Originally published back in 2012, the novel follows a young woman named Hazel as she deals with cancer and falling in love.
Actress Shailene Woodley stars as the main character in the upcoming film, and actually donated her hair in real life to a charity benefiting kids who’ve lost their hair. She’ll be reuniting with her script-writer buddies, Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, who worked on the critically-adored The Spectacular Now. Woodley played a lovestruck teenage nerdy girl who develops an unlikely relationship with the school jock.
Given her past work, which also includes The Descendants (from the Oscar-winning creator of Sideways), Woodley certainly seems to have an eye for highly-rated flicks. Here’s to hoping her golden touch and genuine smile will win us over yet again in The Fault in Our Stars.
