This past Monday, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire premiered in downtown Los Angeles, with stars arriving to the flash of cameras. Jennifer Lawrence, one of Hollywood’s most down-to-earth celebs, soaked up the love from her fans. As the main character Katniss Everdeen, Lawrence oozes feminine strength and heartfelt sincerity.
Before the LA premiere, the stars of Hunger Games traveled the world promoting the film, making stops at Rome, London, Madrid, Paris, and Berlin. On the red carpet at the Nokia Theatre in LA Live, director Francis Lawrence said, “We were at the Rome Film Festival, and there were probably 10,000 people. It was insane. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
As for the main star of the film, he couldn’t say enough good thing about her. “She’s a giant goofball, but she’s an amazing actress,” remarked the director. “I’ve never seen somebody who is so intuitive. She just understands people, and emotion and behavior, and she’s a great read of people. I think she’s able to use that in an astonishing way.”
Catching Fire continues from where the first Hunger Games movie left off, just like in the trilogy by Suzanne Collins. The first film, which came out last year on March 23, 2012, has raked in almost $700 million so far. Now that its popularity is even more off the charts, Catching Fire is definitely expected to break some records after releasing this Friday, November 22.
