On Monday, the MLB season got into the swing-and-a-miss of things, with a somewhat quirky Angels game against the Mariners. Despite a strong 2-run homer from Mike Trout, who recently signed a six-year and $144.5 million contract, the bullpen dropped the ball. And by drop the ball, I mean they surrendered six runs in the ninth inning, helping Los Angeles crash and burn in a 10-3 loss to Seattle. Oh, and the new Angels hitting coach Don Baylor fractured his thigh bone while receiving the ceremonial pitch from Vladimir Guerrero, who signed a one-day contract to retire as an Angel.
