When Miss Jamaica Kaci Fennell was announced as fourth runner-up, outraged fans booed and took to social media, upset that she didn’t win the contest.

The international beauty pageant, Miss Universe, has come to an end! Miss Colombia Paulina Vega was crowned in Miami on Sunday night, with Miss USA Nia Sanchez as the first runner-up.

Ladies from over 80 countries competed in the event, which is one of the largest beauty pageants in the world, alongside the Miss World and Miss Earth contests.

“It will be a dream come true to represent the woman of today. A woman that not only cares about being beautiful and being glamorous, but also cares about being a professional, intelligent, hard-working person,” said Vega, who is studying business administration.

Earlier in the pageant, there was some international drama when Miss Lebanon (Saly Greige) and Miss Israel (Doron Matalon) were in a group selfie together, because their two countries are considered enemies. The Instagram photo quickly led to Greige backtracking on her Facebook page, saying she had tried avoiding Miss Israel, who had jumped into the photo. Apparently, it was meant to just be taken with Miss Japan and Miss Slovenia. Talk about a “photobomb” moment!
